OPERATION: SULTANS OF SWING

OPERATION: SULTANS OF SWING

Good Day Derryouncer’s! It is May 1st, the first day of Summer! Unfortunately, I still have 4 weeks left of school but that won’t stop me from revealing the biggest series of Derryounce Projects yet: Operation Sultans Of Swing!

Inspired by the 1978 Dire Straits song with the same name, The Operation is four month long series of Projects for Derryounce that will be done by Me and those who wish to help.

As always, The Citizens Parliament is busy of planning new ideas, so many new things will be added to the list during the Summer, however we already have Three Huge Plans I wish to discuss, so lets get straight into it!

THE LAND ACT ADVENTURES

As you Derryouncer’s may remember, Everyone participated in a vote on whether we should Pass Act 13: The Land Act, and 75% of you voted Yes! So now I can explain what this actually does. The Free Centrist State was built on top of former boglands and Forests that do not belong or are not being properly maintained by a nature-oriented organisation or individual, with the exception of Derryounce Park, which is specifically marked as being controlled by The Republic of Ireland. Although the micronation is already 5.99km squared, there are still many, many acres of forests and boglands that fall under the same category that border The Free Centrist State. Now that Operation Sultans of Swing has begun, any explored territory that falls into the previously mentioned category off uncontrolled land will be added into The Free Centrist State, increasing our total area by many, many acres. On the first day of June, July, August and September, we will write a detailed report of all the new land being added to the Micronation. Derryounce is currently a little less about our “Magenta Centrist” Political Party at the moment, instead, its more focused on the actual Land and History of the Derryounce area area, which brings us to our next Project:

THE DOCUMENTRY
The Citizens Parliament is made up of History Nerds, such as myself, so you can imagine what I feel when I try to research the history of Derryounce and the local area, just for almost no results to come up, which is why I have decided to look into the history of the Bord Na Mona Company, the Portarlington Power Station, and The Rails and Trains of Derryounce and the local area all by myself, and create my own Documentary about all the mentioned topics and the add a little bit about The Free Centrist State. I currently can’t go into further details about the Documentary, as we are still in the planning stages, however I can tell you that production will begin on June 1st, as it is the same date as The first Land Act Report and also the first Monday of my Summer Holidays. Since this is something you guys won’t have many updates on, let me get to our next Project involving all of you
VIDEOGAME NIGHTS (fr this time)
I know that I’ve mentioned many times that we need to organise more Game Nights for us Derryouncer’s, but now that Summer is approaching, The Citizens Parliament will plan on when and what we will be playing all together. These Events would be great for all of us Micronations to find out more about each other. We will mainly play Free Games that can be played with dozens with people, such as Team Fortress 2 or Garry’s Mod. We are open to any Videogame recommendations you have!
Those were our 3 Main Projects for the Summer, more things are being planned, such as potential Exploration Adventures, Camping Trips, and maybe even Buildings out of trees, Plans which we will of course all inform you about at a later stage.
I am very, very excited for everything, not only will the Free Centrist State grow in size, but we’ll also be able to share our Story to the World with our Planned Documentary. The Magenta Party will try to post more on the internet to attract new Micronationalists to Derryounce, so our Community can grow. If anyone has any questions, you can ask right away in the Discord Server, otherwise, I can’t wait to share our Four Reports on The Land Act Adventures.
Let’s get through the final four weeks of school and begin the Summer, The Derryouncer’s Summer.
